The Joy Boy Project

Joy BoyHospice Portraits is excited to be collaborating on an important community service hospice project: The Joy Boy Project with visionary nature photographer Mark Lunn.

“Mary tells me that many hospice patients die in beds that face blank walls, so I was inspired to craft a large poster collage with nine of my favorite nature photographs from the summer of 2013.

I would like to donate these vibrant 39”x26” posters to any hospice patient anywhere in the world. I need your help in reaching my first goal of donating at least one collage to every hospice agency in the US by the end of 2014, that’s nearly 6,000!

To the bedbound, or anyone, blank walls can be boring, fatiguing, and depressing. Passive contact with nature, like looking at a photograph of a beautiful butterfly, can be as therapeutic as a stroll in a garden. Nature nurtures and soothes—for the young and old, healthy or sick.

It is an honor and delight to bring the beauty of nature to the walls and ceilings of the bedbound. The Joy Boy Project provides hospice patients, families and caregivers a comforting window into the natural world. It is my hope that my colorful poster collage also offers visual stimulation, calms stress and anxiety, and evokes fond memories of connecting with the earth and nature.

For your $35 donation to The Joy Boy Project, you will receive this beautiful 39”x26” collage poster and I will donate one to a hospice agency of your choice in your name, or anonymously if you choose. Your donation will also help expand my offerings to other nature themed collage posters.

Thank you for your interest and support of The Joy Boy Project.”
